Cuba ~ the View from the Pink Convertible

I cannot sit on a beach and read a book when I travel. Fortunately, neither is Donna. We want to explore and go to museums, art galleries and places of worship. We want to eat authentic food. We will not go and stay put on a resort. We have no issues with those that do; it’s simply not what we do.

Our journey to Cuba was a treasure trove of unique experiences. We ventured beyond the confines of the resort, exploring Havana and the Bay of Pigs with the guidance of a local tour guide. This allowed us to witness the real Cuba, a side that is often overshadowed by the resort experience.

This blog entry covers the Bay of Pigs outing, Havana and the show at the Tropicana. I must admit that the dance troupe at the Memories Jibicoa was as good as the Tropicana. They didn’t have the resources. More on that later
