Tora Annual Shiai

Thanks to my longtime friend Greg Butrey, I was given the exciting opportunity to photograph a Judo Ontario Tournament in Brampton. It was a fascinating day, like watching a well-oiled machine. Four mats and Judo clubs from all over Ontario had athletes of various skill sets and ages.

I loved how the sensei (coach/trainer) took the judoka (competitor) after each match. Win or lose, the sensei took the judoka aside and discussed the game.

This was agony and ecstasy personified. The beautiful part was the sportsmanship displayed by both winners and losers. I will be back.
